Head of Fundraising and Partnerships

Are you an innovative leader with proven experience in developing a high performing fundraising team?

Are you looking for a role where you can combine your outstanding skills and experience within relationship fundraising to have a lasting impact on children in poverty across the world? We are looking for a Head of Relationship Fundraising to join a Christian charity, in this home-based/flexible role.

Position: Head of Relationship Fundraising

Location: Home-based

Salary: £45,900 - £56,000

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday - Flexible working pattern

Closing Date: 18th May at 10am

Interview Date: Week commencing 7th June

About the Role

The Head of Relationship Fundraising deploys the use of business intelligence in relationship fundraising to oversee the team working with high net worth individuals, mid-level donors, legacy intenders, government funding and relations. The Head of Relationship Fundraising is also a member of the Partnerships Leadership Team. You will liaise closely with the Partnerships Director, Head of Events and Head of Partnerships Support.

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Actively maintain and promote the charitys Christian ethos and values
  • Play an active role in the Partnerships Leadership Team
  • Develop a high performing Relationship Fundraising Team
  • Pursue innovation and development within the Relationship Fundraising Team
  • Maximise revenue generation through major donor work in both our Philanthropy function and Regional Teams, and through mid-level fundraising
  • Implement a legacy fundraising strategy, growing revenue and legacy intenders
  • Supervise the Government Funding and Public Affairs Programmes

 

About You

To flourish in this role, you’ll need:

 

  • Qualified to degree level standard (or higher) and / or able to show relevant work-based experience
  • Experience of successful key account management with senior external stakeholders, preferably major donors
  • Extensive experience of fundraising from high net worth individuals and outstanding relationship management skills
  • To be an experienced leader with a successful track record in leading high-achieving sales teams within a matrix structure that reach and exceed agreed targets
  • An experienced communicator with strong public speaking skills and the capability to represent Compassion to influential audiences
  • Experience of multi-year budget planning and forecasting
  • A strong understanding and experience of UK charity fundraising compliance framework
  • A full UK driving license with availability to travel both nationally and internationally

 

It would help (but isn’t essential) to have:

 

  • A knowledge of international development and the challenges faced by the children, families and communities Compassion seeks to serve
  • Experience of legacy fundraising
  • Experience of corporate fundraising
  • Experience of statutory fundraising
  • Charity leadership experience

There’s an occupational requirement for the holder of this role to be a practising Christian, in order to promote the charity’s ethos and help others to experience, explore and express the faith-based motivation of our work.
