Job Details

The Sytner Group Software Team are embarking on ambitious projects to deliver new cloud hosted applications for the company. We have identified the need for new additions to the team to deliver core software services and libraries, implementing cloud architecture patterns and using software best practices including automated testing and Continuous Delivery. These services will lower the barrier to entry for application developers in delivering customer facing solutions.

Reporting to the Principal Software Engineer at Sytner Group and working closely day to day with experienced DevOps engineers and Data Analysts, this role will lead the software development function of the team and guide other software developers in the team in producing high quality, scalable and resilient software.

Skills:

  • Highly skilled in C# .Net Core with experience of NodeJS
  • Well versed in patterns and principles such as Gang of Four and SOLID
  • Familiar with Cloud Architecture Patterns
  • Entity Framework (or similar ORM) for SQL
  • Document Database experience desirable, as is experience of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Passionate about Micro-service architectures principles and great API design
  • Usage of Git and Continuous Delivery systems with Automated Testing is crucial
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Thinking with a Lean mind-set and enthusiasm for the role

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Principal Software Engineer and Development Teams to identify business needs
  • Develop, test and support the core company services and libraries
  • Adapt existing applications to conform to latest company standards
  • Develop, document, and automate tests according to acceptance criteria
  • Keep abreast of technical and industry developments and ensure existing systems are kept up to date with latest development frameworks and server technologies
  • Work effectively within a team environment, contributing and implementing standards and processes

 

Delivering:

  • Company-wide software platform implemented with .Net Core 3.0
  • Micro-service Oriented Architectures and RESTful APIs
  • Event Driven Systems using cloud scale message brokers
  • Automated Builds, Unit and API Testing
  • Services hosted using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Secured using Azure AD and Azure B2C
