The Transmission Network Development team gives Engineers a chance to work on a DWDM network supporting Sky Customer and Corporate traffic. The Transmission team is responsible for design, development, and specification of Optical Transmission Network Ensuring capacity demands of customer and corporate can be met in a cost-effective timely manner delivering high availability and low error rates. Capacity growth is driven by a number of factors including growth from Sky Broadband & Talk, Sky Mobile and Over the Top TV services.

What you'll do:

- The engineers in the team are responsible for the design, test and high tier support of:
- Multi Terrabit DWDM Network using up to 200Gbit/s per wavelength and WSS technology.
- Migration away from Old SDH Network onto new packet-based platforms.
- Network Management Systems that manage these services.

What you'll bring:

- Experience of network design/development and a technical understanding of Data and Telecommunication companies.
- Experience within the Telecoms industry gained in a role responsible for deploying Transmission solutions with a network operator.
- Good understanding of the physical characteristics of different fibre transmission.
- An ability to work collaboratively on projects that span a diverse group of technical and non-technical colleagues, to present to Senior Managers level and relevant Stakeholders
