Our client, a highly respected Higher Education establishment based in Glasgow, require an Administration Assistant on a temporary basis initially for 2 months. The salary for the position is GBP9.54 per hour. This is a part-time role working 17.5 hours per week; Monday, Tuesday and half day Wednesday.
Main purpose of role:
To support the commercial and research activities of the Centre through the provision of general and administrative assistance..
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
General telephone and reception duties, dealing with routine enquiries internal and external to the organisation
Provide an effective administrative support to the team, and take an instrumental role in ensuring the smooth running of the administration area
Attending and participating in relevant departmental meetings
Accounts handling, including invoicing clients, handling payments and pursuing unpaid invoices
Maintain stationery and other office supplies
Order inks and fabrics from registered suppliers
Logistics arrangements, including national/international shipping
General office duties, including preparation of documents, maintaining administration and filing and photocopying
Undertake any such duties as may reasonably be requestedKey Skills and Requirements:
You will be educated to National Qualification level or equivalent and have a good level of
experience working in a similar role
Experience of Higher Education Sector would be beneficial
Previous experience of account handing and use of Agresso software is advantageous
Capable of providing general office assistance with a minimum of supervision in routine
work situations
A sound understanding of printed textile design processes is preferable
Excellent written and oral communication skills
IT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office; MS Word and MS Excel in particular
The ability to communicate courteously and effectively at all levels
Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet
deadlines
A positive and enthusiastic approach
