The Group Finance Division are looking for a Manager to join its Group Costs & Investments team. The team helps the Group achieve its investment targets - keeping spend to budget, looking for ways to increase benefits and improve customer outcomes, and identifying new risks and opportunities as they emerge. It handles all investment requests through the Group Cost Management Committee (GCMC), and is relied upon for its phenomenal insight into the performance of the portfolio.

In addition, the team help find new ways to reduce bureaucracy and simplify the way we do things, and work with some of the most strategic programmes in the Group to craft the future direction of investment.

The work is high profile, with a large number of executive stakeholders and provides a rare opportunity to engage across a variety of levels in the organisation, and on some of the biggest decisions the Group faces. Together, the team look after a portfolio covering hundreds of different initiatives and a total of nearly 3 billion pounds of spend a year.

As is most of the world, the entire team is currently working remotely and this is something we intend to carry on embracing into the future. The hub location of this role is London, but we expect this role to work in a hybrid way, flexing between working from home and the office hub. We recognise that in order to attract the best people we need to be flexible - we know that 'normal' office hours aren't always doable. Whilst we can't accommodate every flexible working request, we are happy to be asked.

A good team player who is willing to help others but equally you'll enjoy working independently, and eager to learn new things.

You'll also have a gift for clear communication to deliver consistent messages across your area of influence - sharing your ideas and ensuring you take colleagues along the journey.

And you'll need to be an effective decision-maker who - using your analytical thinking and problem solving abilities to arrive at customer-centric decisions.
