Wellbeing Worker

We have full time and part time opportunities for experienced mental health / wellbeing professionals to work with people experiencing mental health or other social or lifestyle issues in several areas around Oxfordshire.

You will be working for a mental health charity, who make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support; in total over 20,000 people in Oxfordshire access services each year.

Position: Wellbeing Service Worker

Location: Vacancies available in Cherwell & West, Abingdon and Oxford

Salary: £21,748 - £24,982 per annum

Hours: Full time and Part-time opportunities available, 28-37 hours per week, depending on the service

Closing Date: Sunday 6th June

Interview Date: Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th June

About the role:

Wellbeing Service Worker is a rewarding role, you will be supporting people to achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing. You will make a positive difference to people’s lives, be part of an encouraging and experienced team and have access to a wide range of development opportunities.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Options Sessions.
  • Deliver Educational and Coping Skills courses (Online and in person).
  • Facilitate Peer Support Sessions (Online and in person).
  • Liaison and Development Work 
  • Ensure compliance with the organisation’s policies, systems and procedures
  • Supervision, training, meetings and support

About you:

To be successful in the role of Wellbeing Service Worker you will have previous experience of working with individuals enabling them to identify their own goals to support personal wellbeing and recovery, and the ability to support them in pursuing these. You will also bring with you the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in an often-demanding environment
  • Understanding and knowledge of how to safeguard vulnerable service users
  • Experience of facilitating groups (both in person and online)
  • An understanding of mental health and sensitivity to the needs of people living with mental health problems
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organisational, planning, administrative and IT skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and use of databases                  
  • Effective team worker with ability to take initiative and work on an individual basis
  • Experience of design and development of training resources and interventions including delivery of training programmes
