Company

Partners In Support is a dynamic, not-for-profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to lead the life that they choose.

Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, we support individuals to lead the lives that they choose and assist people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and their chosen communities. Partners In Support is not aiming to be a large organisation or work across the country, it only aspires to offer the best possible support to those people we work with within Hertfordshire.

Our mission isTo empower people to live fulfilled and valued lives in their own way, breaking down barriers to support people to contribute to society and having meaningful relationships

We believe that all people with learning disabilities and / or autism should have the opportunity to have fulfilled and valued lives in their own way.  For us this means people:

  • Having support to make decisions about the direction of their lives
  • Experiencing new and enriching life experiences
  • Participating and contributing as members of their communities
  • Having meaningful and loving relationships outside of their paid support
  • Remaining safe and healthy
  • Being able to express their own cultural and spiritual beliefs
  • Being able to take risks positively

To support this, Partners in Support will:

  • Work in partnership with people, their families and any external support.
  • Employ the best staff possible for each person, involving people and their families in the recruitment process
  • Stay small and local, continuing to only work in Hertfordshire.  This provides a strong foundation for close relationships with all the people we support and their families.
  • Be open and transparent, we will not be afraid to learn from others as well as sharing and role modelling best practice ourselves
  • Not use agency staff to support people, promoting consistency through our own staff that we have recruited and trained

To support our mission, the values that underpin our work and are expected from all our staff are as follows:

  • Respectful – Treating people in a way that you would expect to be treated yourself
  • Ambitious – Be brave and challenge ourselves to be the best, enhancing opportunities for the people we support and the wider organisation
  • Open – Be transparent and honest within our work
  • Inclusive – Value the contributions of all team members and people’s wider network
  • Positive – To progress sometimes we need to take positive risks and accept things can occasionally go wrong
  • Creative – Success isn’t easily found, sometimes we need to work harder and more creatively to find opportunities to make a difference
  • Adaptable – Things don’t always fit neatly into boxes, sometimes we need to think or work differently
  • Supportive – Life isn’t always straight forward, sometimes people, including our staff, need additional support when they are going through a difficult time

If you are searching for a rewarding role and have similar values to ours, then you could be a great Support Worker.

If you would like to be part of our fantastic team and can demonstrate the following, then apply for our range of Support Worker roles now:

  • A commitment to empowering people and working closely with their family
  • Self-direction and the ability to take responsibility
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations
  • A positive and compassionate nature

A key part of the support worker's role is to understand the person you are supporting, which will include providing practical and emotional support.

Experience of support work is beneficial but not essential as full training and induction will be given.
