Web Content Officer

We are looking for a Web Content Officer to work with Third Sector Support Wales Knowledge Hub to maximise its use and impact

The charity is the national membership organisation for the voluntary sector and volunteering in Wales. Their aim is to work towards a future where the voluntary sector and volunteering thrive across Wales, improving wellbeing for all.

Position: Web Content Officer

Location: Flexible Homebased, there are office hubs in Abergele, Aberystwyth and Cardiff and there will be a requirement to attend staff events as required

Salary: £28,507 increasing to £30,211 per annum following successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.

Duration: Fixed term – 12 months

Hours: 35 hours per week. A flexi time scheme is in operation and time off in lieu is permissible for any work required to be undertaken outside the normal hours.

About the role:

The Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) partnership with Welsh Government is investing in the TSSW Knowledge Hub to maximise its use and impact. The TSSW Knowledge Hub gives voluntary organisations in Wales easy access to a range of online information, networking, and learning. Their aim is to create, maintain and develop a bilingual platform that becomes the ‘go to site’ for information, learning and engagement for the third sector across Wales.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Provide support, training, and information internally to partners and to wider stakeholders
  • Lead the development and implementation of a content strategy/plan, to guide the creation, delivery, and governance of useful, usable content.
  • Conduct content audits to identify gaps and redundancies in the site content
  • Work with content editors to ensure the content is well-structured and easy to find
  • Deliver user testing and research to identify content and learning needs
  • Monitor and analyse CRM and analytics data to learn how users interact with your site.
  • Work with Head of Digital Services to identify and plan work with developers.
  • Provide updates and progress reports to various part of the governance structure
  • Work with Marketing & Communications to maintain brand identify and co-ordinate marketing campaigns
  • Explore opportunities to work with external partners to host content and secure income

 

About you:

To be successful in the role of Web Content Officer you will need to be experienced in a similar role, you will also bring with you the following skills and experience:

 

  • Excellent organisation and co-ordination skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects
  • Technically minded with knowledge of one or more CMS platforms, (preferably WordPress), Microsoft Office software and web analytic tools.
  • Logical and analytical, with an ability to spot patterns, gaps, and repetitions in web content.
  • Able to communicate confidently and clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of how to engage and work constructively with stakeholders and partners.
  • Excellent writing skills, able to write and edit content, design, and deliver training guides for different audiences.

 

Although not essential, a knowledge of the voluntary sector would be highly beneficial for this role, as would Welsh language skills.
