Willmott Dixon Interiors is now recruiting for a Bid/Proposals Writer to join our team. Your base would be split between our newly refurbished office in Farringdon and home working to suit and you will contribute to the company strategic plan to build and maintain a robust pipeline of projects.

Willmott Dixon Interiors' reputation is linked to the quality of our bids and can often be the first impression our customer's see.

So, making exceptionally written and presented bids and proposals for our customers is paramount in us winning work.

By inputting into clear and effective client presentations you will be able to provide creative ideas and initiatives into bids.

Although not essential, the ideal candidate will be from a construction background and will have experience in proposals / Pre-Qualification Questionnaires / tenders and case studies. Bid writing experience would also be favourable. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and have a good team working ethic with an excellent eye for detail.

As an interiors specialist our projects are diverse and may involve complicated refurbishments of existing premises. These may be from circa £5m to circa £25m in value.

Bid Writer objectives include:

  • Enhance the quality of bids with clear, accessible written content.
  • Writing bespoke answers to customer questions.
  • To communicate effectively and influence.
  • Review and critique specialist authors' responses.
  • Writing and editing bid submissions into compelling and persuasive responses.
  • Ensuring the writing structure and words used in the proposal persuasively conveys the offer to the customer
  • Manage a varied workload with multiple conflicting deadlines.
  • Understand and include customer-focused sales messages and share with bid authors.
  • Prepare feasibility documents with business development team.
  • To identify risks and opportunities.

Our office (when you need to go to it - how times have changed) is within easy reach of a number of stations: Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Farringdon, Fenchurch Street, Holborn, Liverpool Street and Waterloo and all the fantastic amenities, our customers and food destinations that part of London offers!

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of facilitating answer plan sessions, win theme workshops and managing the review process
  • Experience of writing and editing bid submissions into compelling and persuasive responses
  • Excellent resource planning skills
  • Full membership of relevant professional body (e.g APMP)
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office


Desirable Criteria

  • Use of Adobe Indesign and Photoshop
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification,
  • Foundation in Proposal Management (APMP)
  • Full membership of secondary technical professional body (e.g CIM)
  • Ideally from a background where utilising excellent writing skills is essential, for example: Communications, PR, Medical Writing, Journalism etc.
