Job Details

Macquarie is looking to hire a senior IT consultant to provide IT Advisory to the M&A team. This will be a 6 months’ contract role with the possibility to be converted into a permanent. You will be a part of the global team working with Sydney and will be responsible for providing deal advisory services to Macquarie Capital in the area if information technology.    

To be successful in this role you will have a strong advisory background, working for the financial institutions, leading consultancies (preferably Big 4s), Tier 1 investment banks. You will have experience with providing IT consulting advice on merger or acquisition projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work with external vendors to perform Information Technology Due Diligence.
  • Assist our deal teams to implement recommendations post transaction closure.
  • Assist with the setup of our greenfield assets (organising managed services, system selection and implementation of policy).
  • Assist with carve-out planning on complex acquisitions (advising on technology roadmap, plan, costs, and risks).
  • Provide adhoc advice on other questions our business raises.
  • Assist with the development of our capability (frameworks, intellectual property and vendor network).
  • Work with our vendors which includes establishing contracts, reviewing vendor assessments, and managing commercial obligations.
  • Develop and present various papers to senior stakeholders for review (due diligence summaries, risk management papers, memorandums, incident reports).

Desirable skills and knowledge

  • Cyber security best practices and industry frameworks (NIST standards).
  • Critical service management (utilising frameworks like ITIL to ensure that critical IT services within a business are supported by the right processes and controls).
  • Workplace technology
  • General understanding of software development practices, processes, and common issues.
