As a process safety engineer, you will be responsible for embedding our Workplace Health Safety and Environment strategy across our portfolio of assets primarily in EMEA; however, may support other regions, ensuring we are compliant with local process safety legislation and have best practice systems in place to effectively identify, assess and control material process safety risks associated with high hazard conditions and equipment.

Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and supporting our Workplace Health, Safety, & Environment framework and management system for the Macquarie Capital Group whilst also working closely with the deal teams to provide ongoing expert advice on general Workplace Health, Safety, & Environment matters for new transactions and existing assets.  You will lead or support initiatives such as training programs, work streams and system developments supporting the Health, Safety and Environment strategy, and will be required to develop templates and case studies as well as supporting with the delivery of project technical briefings. Staying on top of key regulatory developments within the region is also a key requirement, to ensure you are keeping pace with requirements and best practice.

You will show leadership around Workplace Health Safety to help deepen the levels of ownership and accountability from the Macquarie Capital teams.  Working with Asset Managers you will also provide Workplace Health, Safety, & Environment action plans where appropriate and conduct follow up inspections and internal audits on assets under construction or operations as aligned with other key planning processes and documents such as Hazid, Hazop; QRAs, major accident reviews, etc.  Working with colleagues globally you will also strengthen existing processes and introduce enhancements as required to bring practices to a consistent level globally.

With a tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as engineering, you will have a minimum of 10 years proven experience as a Process Safety Engineer , and general experience with a suitable qualification in general HSE management in either an internal or external advisory capacity or as part of a broader operations role with exposure to infrastructure and renewables.  You will also be required to have proven experience succeeding in a fast paced, complex stakeholder environment, with strong relationship building and influencing skills and the ability to drive change.  You will ideally have experience doing QRAs, safety cases, Hazid, Hazop, workshops and working with teams during development, construction and operations phases of projects.
