The Vacancy

Purpose for the role:

The role holder will provide actionable insight into current and emerging customer preferences, competitor activity and market trends, providing the business with timely and relevant data to support decision making at a tactical and strategic level regarding proposition development, market differentiation and commercial performance.

The role holder will play an integral role in influencing business strategies and marketing and PR activity by delivering customer insights and knowledge through quantitative data reporting and modelling.

Key role accountabilities:?

  • Staying highly informed of the regulatory landscape and the wider market to identify trends and changes that might impact Towergate Health & Protection customers
  • Manage a rolling programme of customer surveys and market research, analyse the results and submit reports and recommendations to the business regarding actionable insights
  • Provide expert advice on the best analytical tools and software
  • Work with the MI team to develop a strategic data transformation plan and communicate this framework to relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for the planning, implementation, analysis and recommendations for the annual Investor in Customers survey
  • Design market and customer research and interpret results to feed into the company's development of commercial propositions, it's marketing plan and PR activity
  • Analysis of national and local fluctuations in NHS waiting lists, to inform content and geographical targeting of communications to customers and prospects.
  • Analysis of competitor propositions and capability to inform decision making about how to enhance the company's competitive advantage at a tactical and strategic level
  • Inform and assist with content creation from all of the above to support production of various outputs within the marketing plan that will be produced by the team, e.g. white papers, PR
  • Provide insights to the wider marketing team to ensure that all communication to prospects is timely, relevant and thought provoking
  • Benchmarking analysis of client benefit provision by industry sector
  • Create and deliver an annual consultant survey, which collates feedback on providers and competitors
  • Work closely with data teams to resolve issues
  • Report on market trend analysis and root cause
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to add value to the business

Qualifications and experience:

  • 3 years' experience in the employee benefits, health insurance or general insurance industry
  • High proficiency in MS Office packages such MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • 2-3 years of research experience in qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience in managing data and proven success in applying a range of analytical skills and techniques
  • Successful management of internal and external relationships
