Job Description:

Digital Platforms sits at the heart of the Digital Channel and is accountable for service, cyber security, operational performance, change implementation and the delivery of the digital change portfolio. The team works across different technology platforms to provide the best service for our Retail and Commercial internet banking customers.

 

We are looking for an experienced candidate to join the Digital Platforms team in the role of Digital Strategy Manager to support the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of our next generation digital run capabilities. As the Digital Bank transitions to the public cloud, this role will be encouraged to identify and assess the impact of new technologies, concepts and ways-of-working (for example, "SRE") to ensure our operating model can deliver a fast, secure, and reliable service for our customers.

 

In addition, the Digital Strategy Manager will be immersed into the day-to-day operation of the digital bank to understand the existing model and to be able to identify transformation opportunities. The role will be support change, risk and performance management activities across the retail and commercial banking platforms.

 

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to the strategy and design of the Digital Bank's future run operating model, initiating proof-of-concepts where necessary and driving the implementation of transformation activities.
  • Produce business rich and operational insights for the digital channels (i.e. mobile apps, desktop, Open Banking) using performance and capacity management toolsets. Take ownership of performance issues where necessary.
  • Build a close working relationship with product, engineering, and support teams across the organisation to deliver changes / improvements to our products and services.
  • Manage and plan the Digital Bank capacity in line with business growth, liaising with labs across the organisation to ensure that future volumes are accounted for during product planning.
  • Regularly present succinct and effective reports to stakeholders across the organisation to influence decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Utilise your relationships to advocate change and educate colleagues on the news ways of working.

 

What you'll bring:

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate most of the following skills/experiences -

  • Digital transformation experience on an operational environment
  • Experience delivering projects and implementing technology/process improvements
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret operational metrics into Business insights
  • An understanding of technical concepts such as DevOps, SRE, CI/CD
  • Knowledgeable of the capabilities offered by public cloud providers (e.g. Google Cloud Platform)
  • The ability to quickly grasp new concepts and assess how they can transform our existing model
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to clearly articulate and present technical concepts to audiences that vary in seniority and technical acumen.
