REED Business Support are currently representing a Darlington based client who are looking to appoint a part time HR Advisor (15-25 hours over 3-4 week days) on a permanent basis.

Offering a salary between GBP22,590 - GBP24,995 depending upon experience. This post requires a Basic DBS check.

As the HR Advisor you will be supporting Managers to recruit and retain quality staff and volunteers, and to ensure that business records are accurate and up to date, and that employment legislation is complied with.

• The HR Advisor will work closely with the HR Manager, Workforce Development Team, and the Strategic Management Team.

• The HR Advisor will be a point of contact for HR queries for all Managers, staff and volunteers.

• The HR Advisor may be required to liaise directly with external contacts such as payroll providers, HR and employment law advice services, jobseekers and recruitment services.

The successful candidate will have:

1. Level 5 or higher CIPD-accredited qualification in Human Resources, equivalent qualification or equivalent experience

2. Associate or higher professional member of the CIPD

3. Understanding of equality and diversity issues in the workplace

4. Good up to date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice

5. Good up to date knowledge of Data Protection legislation and ability to apply this in an HR setting

6. Computer literate; fully competent with Microsoft Office suite and able to learn new MS Office skills under own volition

7. Excellent general administrative and record-keeping skills

8. Familiar with database systems, spreadsheets, mail merges, block emails etc. for efficient reporting and distribution of information

9. Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets

10. Ability to produce written reports with easy to follow, accurate data as required

11. Ability to liaise effectively with managers and members of the workforce across the organisation, using tact and diplomacy skills

12. Effective presentation and training skills
