We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Service Manager to lead the running and strategic development of the Crisis Cove, in this part-time role.

Position: Service Manager – Mental Health

Location: Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster

Hours: Part-time,19.5 hours per week on average. Standard operating hours for the Cove are: 14:00 – 22:00, Monday - Sunday (rota dependent).’, you will be required to work in the service core hours of operation

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £17,748 per year (£35,496 pro rata), rising to £18,174 per year after 1 year and successful probation

The Role

This is an incredible opportunity to lead the development and operational delivery of the Crisis Cove service, covering Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster (KCW Cove), and working across Central North London Boroughs in partnership with CNWL NHS Foundation Trust.

The Cove has been designed to be a safe, warm, welcoming and recovery focused space for people in a mental health crisis who have been referred by CNWL’s clinical teams, to support to deescalate their immediate mental health crisis and safety plan for their future.

The Service Manager will lead the running and strategic development of the CNWL Crisis Cove under the direction of the Area Manager and Regional Director.

The charity’s primary aim is to deliver a recovery focused support service that enables service users to integrate further into the local community, support individuals on their recovery journeys so that the lead better and more fulfilled lives while living within the services.

About You

As Service Manager you will have:

  • Experience of managing services for people with mental health and complex needs
  • Experience of managing multiple and complex teams including experience of recruitment, induction, supervision, motivation, appraisal, training, discipline and grievance issues
  • Experience of performance monitoring, delivering consistently high service user standards and ability and experience of managing complex budgets
  • Understanding of Mental Health Crisis Management and the delivery of services
  • Excellent knowledge of Community Care, Mental health, Health and Safety and welfare benefits legislation and understanding of working effectively in partnership with statutory services
  • Knowledge of methods of assessing, formulating, implementing, recording, reviewing and monitoring service user support and assessment plans
  • Ability to work flexibly including primarily out of hours working during the evening, weekends and bank holidays to support the delivery of and scrutinise the Haven Service
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
