Join our Global Fund Finance team as a Structurer in Sydney, New York or London.

The team specialises in lending and derivative transactions with top tier private equity funds and hedge funds. You will be involved in developing and negotiating highly structured transactions, analysing a range of different funds and asset classes.

Working closely with senior members, you will be mentored by a high performing team with an extensive track record of developing innovative and “market first” financing structures.

Bringing a natural aptitude for developing and building relationships at all levels, you’ll engage with a range of business stakeholders and clients.  Considered by the market as a highly specialised fund finance team, we’re looking for you to bring an inquisitive mindset to analyse both qualitative and quantitative information, strong verbal communication skills and be comfortable operating both independently and in a global team environment.

Working arrangements are flexible, with team members across Sydney, New York and London, working on transactions across the globe.  Opportunity for Sydney based applicants to transfer to New York or London with a facilitated international transfer.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate a strong academic track-record within a relevant degree (although a science or engineering degree will also be well-regarded). You will have 2 to 5 years of experience within a complex commercial environment in one or more of the following areas:

  • debt capital markets
  • cross border financing
  • structured derivatives
  • credit risk management, specifically portfolio risk and/or special situations credit
  • tax, regulatory, legal and operations frameworks of prudentially regulated institutions.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • strong communication skills and an ability to develop and maintain close working relationships
  • strong numeracy and an analytical mind
  • advanced MS Excel skills and report writing skills
  • highly articulate and organised with strong attention to detail
  • the ability to handle a fast-paced working environment

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
