Job Details

Join our Energy, Resources and Sustainability team in London as a Senior Analyst within the Specialised and Asset Finance Division of the Commodities and Global Markets Group.

Our Energy, Resources and Sustainability team focusses on providing clients with tailored financing solutions which enable them to efficiently run and grow their businesses. Our expertise encompasses utility assets (including smart meters, batteries and distributed generation) and mobility solutions (including EVs, charging infrastructure and scalable hydrogen technologies).

Joining as a Senior Analyst, you will work closely with members of the team in the structuring and delivery of complex transactions focused on the energy transition sector and within the EMEA region. You will be key in financial analytics and modelling and the production of presentations and materials for both internal and external audiences. The ability to plan and execute your analysis and to clearly explain your conclusions, both written and verbal, will be a key part of this role.

Prior transaction experience in the energy sector (or a broad range of sectors) and advanced skills in financial modelling and corporate finance will be considered favourably.

The team values entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn new skills quickly in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

This team often operates under tight deadlines and so resilience and time management are also important attributes for this role.

We would value candidates who have experience in a comparable organisation and qualifications with a focus on numerical analysis (ACCA/CFA, Finance, or relevant subject at a Masters level), although this is not essential. Previous experience could come from a regulated bank, a management consulting firm, a professional services firm,  an infrastructure fund, private equity or corporate advisory.

If this sounds exciting, please apply now.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
