Chief Operating Officer

We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer to take on strategic responsibility for the delivery of the full breadth work for one of the UK’s leading environmental charities

For more than 60 years the charity has campaigned for cleaner, greener places and delivered programmes aimed at encouraging organisations and individuals to reduce their environmental impact. The work of the charity has never been more informed, important and urgent.

Position: Chief Operating Officer

Salary: £65,000p.a. - £75,000p.a.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Wigan or London

Closing Date: 08:00, Friday 30 July 2021

Interviews: will be held remotely via Microsoft Teams on Monday 9 August 2021

About the role:

As Chief Operating Officer you will take on strategic responsibility for the delivery of the full breadth of work. This post will work directly with the Chief Executive to design organisational strategy and closely with the wider senior management team to ensure delivery. You will lead on the development and delivery of operational plans, delivering growth, ensuring that income targets are achieved and all outcomes are delivered on time. You will also work closely with the Board of Trustees, and manage a team of senior Directors and operational managers.

About you:

To be successful in the role of Chief Operating Officer you will have extensive experience at a senior level.

You will also have the following essential skills and experience:

 

  • The ability to build significant relationships with the directors, managers and external key stakeholders
  • A thorough understanding of the charity’s areas of work and the sectors they work in
  • Substantial commercial acumen
  • High levels of financial literacy
  • Excellent project management skills
  • External business development skills
  • Experience of the delivery of annual business plans
