As a hands-on Test Engineer with a passion for testing, your job is to participate in the testing (including automation) of high-quality TV Apps on Sky's leading platforms & devices. You will be heavily involved with the Scrum process and interface with different delivery teams to paint a clear picture of end-state and delivery expectations.


What you'll do:

* Actively participating in sprint planning / daily stand-ups / sprint retrospectives and meetings
* Asking constructive/stupid questions, reviewing user stories, tasks, designs, specifications for gaps and clarity, and interacting with the product in such a way that it yields information that's useful
* Collaborate with the team members daily and communicating information about testing/concerns and risks clearly to all appropriate parties and acting as a key point of contact for all testing aspects
* Exploratory testing: You learn about the product by experiencing it and evaluating it from many perspectives to find important problems
* Advising and mentoring the team about testing and delivering testing/tech related talks and freely sharing knowledge and support the teams
* Creating and maintaining the test automation framework, identifying tests to be automated using BDD, refactoring where needed and keeping on top of test coverage to align with product and customer needs


What you'll bring:

* Minimum 5 years' experience in software testing
* Strong hands on Front-end /TV apps/OTT testing ability, including Experience using a web based app automation tools e.g. Cypress
* Experience and knowledge in automating BDD scenarios, writing step definitions, necessary functions, assertions. Ideally using JavaScript, but knowledge of other programming languages are acceptable - Ruby / Python / Java etc.
* Strong Functional / UI / User / Api Testing experience, in generating test ideas, writing BDD scenarios, defining test data, mocking and testing requirements

Desirable skills:
* Experience testing TV Apps on set top boxes
* Experience with CI/CD and pipelines e.g. GitLab CI/Jenkins
* Experience in building a test automation framework with an awareness of Page Object Model or other Patterns to automate web apps
