We are currently recruiting for an Agile Project Manager to join our Project Services team. Dependent upon experience, this role could also be available at Project Management Analyst level. The Agile Project Manager will be responsible for defining and supporting via project delivery the building of desirable, feasible, viable and sustainable software development products that meet customer needs and goals. They will manage the delivery of projects ensuring that they are delivered to time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards whilst maintaining good stakeholder relationships. They will collaborate with the Digital Business Partners/Data and Business Intelligence Manager and relevant teams to ensure the effective and successful delivery of agile projects. They will also coordinate with the manager and support with resourcing planning, managing demand for the team and support with product vision. The Agile Project Manager will have a strong understanding of agile project management, software development lifecycle, agile methodologies and will adhere to the Project Services governance. Collaborating with people and delivering an outstanding customer service is key, so strong communication and stakeholder skills are required.

 

Duties and responsibilities within the role will include:

* Maintain product roadmaps and contribute towards long term product strategy and vision, ensuring that those are aligned to the business objectives. Ensures timelines, priorities and the "why" behind the product and features are clear.

* Manage different aspects of products, including customers feedback, requests, issues and ensure that those are integrated into the product planning and development process.

* Management of projects from concept/briefing, through to release and beyond. This includes writing and managing Business Cases / Briefs as required.

* Ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget while maintaining high standards of service with a focus on timely delivery of value to the business.

* Management and ownership of project documentation including briefing documents; statements of work; functional specifications; budgets; risks and issues logs, status reports.

* Benefits realisation and product performance assessment in order to increase business efficiency and business adoption.

* Establishing and maintaining a solid and trusted relationships with key stakeholders and customers.

* Prioritise workload by understanding business priorities.

* Champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Product Management and Agile Project Management within Application Services.

* Demonstrate excellent working relationships within Application Services, with project stakeholders and all other IT teams and management.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

You will ideally have the following skills / experience:

Technical or operational

Proven experience of:

* Delivery of IT products and projects (preferably application and business intelligence projects) within Agile and Prince2 delivery environment.

* Project Management, control, and reporting.

* Ability to translate complex project requirements into manageable plans and development briefs.

* Ability to identify and mitigate against project risks.

* Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through a project delivery.

Information

Proven experience of:

* Understanding and accurately interpreting technical specifications and plans

* Ability to communicate technical information in a jargon free manner to different audiences.

* Possessing a good range of general IT knowledge.

* Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Scrum

* In-depth knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.
