The Role
Do you have QS experience in social housing or facilities management, operating in a military environment?
Here at Amey we are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor in the South-West region, within our defence services team in the Secure Infrastructure division.
With a mix of working from home and travelling to sites (main base Larkhill, Salisbury) you will undertake a varied portfolio of post contract work including agreeing valuations, variations, payments and contract administration.
You will be a capable self starter with experience of NEC 3 ideally and be able to pass BPSS.
Duties
- Deliver Change Management in accordance with NEC3 term Service Contract ensuring timescales are met by all relevant stakeholders
- Management and resolution of queries submitted by Supply Chain regarding Core Services pricing
- Maintain commercial control to enable planned milestone payments are achieved
- Monitor and review Supply Chain performance
- Manage supplier payments in line with contractual and company policy
- Assist in the development and implementation of commercial risk management procedures
- Attend meetings, provide reports and liaise with all stakeholders on commercial matters
- Assist Commercial & Risk Manager in preparing dispute avoidance strategy and any dispute resolution
Experience required
Commercial QS experience in construction, property maintenance or related field including:
- Developing cost models
- Risk Analysis & Management
- Preparation of work proposals/tenders
- Dispute resolution
- Excellent working knowledge of commercial processes
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Valuation
- Change Management
- Fraud prevention
- Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and a collaborative working environment
Desirable
- Experience of operating in a military environment
- Experience of working on complex, multi- site operations
- Knowledge of BS11000 Collaborative
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Familiarity of NEC3 contracting and requirements
