Credit & Risk Data & Insight Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the provision of Credit & Risk Data and Insight. A key role within the function, it willll focus on developing the Finance Business, developing new strategies and ensuring control in credit risk and collections.

The role is also responsible for overseeing production of Management Information to measure success and to ensure processes are working effectively within defined tolerances.

Managing a team of 3 analysts, you will seek out opportunities for strategy improvements, including optimising automated decision making for niche customer segments.

You will also be involved in leading change, providing expert advice and implementing industry “best practice” with the use of appropriate tools. Working in an FCA regulated environment, you must also be comfortable with maintaining accurate documentation and be confident in leading discussions and presenting in key Governance meetings.

About the role

  • Oversee insight analysis of customer data to propose strategies that optimise sales and Finance Business profit, while ensuring fair treatment of customers.
  • Optimise decision making across recruitment, credit limit management and collections.
  • Provide insight into customer behaviour, e.g. by identification of segments, to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insightful Management Information to detect deviation from tolerances and ensure control.
  • Ensure reports are generated and reviewed, initiating further analysis as required.
  • Escalate risks and opportunities to senior management and propose a response plan
  • Be the expert point of contact for data analysis and modelling:
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge and understanding of current tools and techniques for managing and analysing data and creating suitable models to predict outcomes.
  • Maintain documented procedures and strategies for all areas of expertise, explaining how we are maintaining compliance within our overall compliance framework.

Criteria  

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of data analysis techniques and software.
  • Strong SAS / SQL skills and knowledge of modelling techniques used in credit risk and collections.
  • Experience of working in a credit and risk environment
  • Ability to define and implement innovative solutions and decision system strategies, and perform ongoing analysis to monitor their effectiveness.
  • Clear communicator, using written and oral communications to explain complicated matters in simple terms, and to influence stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework

Desirable:

  • Experience in commercial appraisal tools such as cost / benefit and ROI.
  • R / Python / Tableau experience.
