Job description

It’s an exciting time for the MCA, we have a fantastic project ongoing with our Future of Shared Services (FoSS) Team. If successful you would support the design and development of a new Shared Services solution ensuring that MCA business and operational needs are met, and governance controls are in place. You would provide administrative support to the team regarding governance and the administration of project documentation.
 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Act as a Change Ambassador within the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) and across the Department for Transport (DfT) for the FOSS Programme; remaining positive, engaged, enthusiastic and committed to the vision of the MCA and Programme

• Assist the MCA FoSS HR Team in the delivery of FoSS goals and objectives, including Data Dry Runs (DDR) and Parallel Pay Run (PPR)

• Work with the wider MCA FoSS and DfT FoSS team to provide project updates/reviews and updates to MCA stakeholders

• Support with putting appropriate governance measures in place and kept up to date to support successful Programme delivery

• Assist with project planning and progress reporting to stakeholders within the MCA

• Support the preparation for FoSS Data Migration, ensuring accuracy of data within the current solution (Agresso Business World) and appropriate retention is applied to both online and offline systems

• Support with the engagement with Subject Matter Experts within HR to prepare them with the transition across to the new systems

• Support the development of the policies for the FoSS Programme and for MCA's Shared Services provision within business as usual

• Assist with the design of internal Training Materials for the new systems, ensuring materials are user friendly

• Become a recognised source of information in the future systems that will be utilised by MCA within the Shared Services arena, and support others in developing such knowledge in the systems to facilitate effective transition from programme to business as usual.

About you

To thrive in this role, you will have experience working in a HR environment, you enjoy collaborating with others and can build rapport quickly with both internal and external stakeholders which enables you to build solid working relationships.

You will bring experience of process development and you enjoy working with data, applying the appropriate processes to ensure the required standards are met.

You will draw upon your excellent organisation skills and keen eye for detail allowing you to ensure all documentation is completed and kept up to date.

You will use a variety of communication skills, including verbal and written, and will tailor these to suit your audience.

Additional information

As the programme develops it is possible that regular travel including overnight stays may be required. You will be provided with full notice of this.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is an executive agency of the United Kingdom working to prevent the loss of lives at sea and is responsible for implementing British and international maritime law and safety policy. It is also responsible for land based search and rescue helicopter operations from 2015.
