My client is recruiting for a maintenance assistant to work in fantastic hotel in Bethnal Green, East London.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experience maintenance assistant who will ensure hotel continues to be a stand out product.

The hotel is an independent, luxurious hotel which opened in 2018.

The Hotel has 161 bedrooms and is limited service (so a small F&B offering including a bar); situated in the heart of Bethnal Green and has marked itself to be one of the best hotels in East London with an excellent reputation in service, and cleanliness which compliments its modern style and Hi tech focus.

You will be someone who is committed to excellence, has strong problem solving skills and a great eye for attention to detail. This will suit someone who wants to take on a new challenge to play a key part in maintaining great standards of the hotel. The individual should be ambitious and inspiring in order to work in an environment focused on great teamwork guest satisfaction.

Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations

Ability to read and understand systems and processes, measuring devices, and safety manuals that are in place.

Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-today maintenance of the hotel.

Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis.

Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS or team and update remarks once the task is completed.

Perform maintenance activities around the hotel such as: painting, adjusting and repairing doors and handles, plumbing such as unclogging drains; repairing toilets & leaks, repairing hardware such safes, programming and repairing TV's; electrical equipment and appliances, HVAC and AC ducts.

Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment if not repairable; organise to call out contractors or suppliers to rectify issues.

Liaising with contractors to ensure regular visits are confirmed and overseeing their works and then signing off record.

Manage and record all health and safety compliance for the hotel; weekly fire alarm tests; monthly fire extinguisher checks; emergency light tests; water temperature checks; disabled alarm checks; refuge area phone checks; lead the quarterly fire emergency evacuation; showerhead descaling and quarterly visual checks.

To monitor fire Alarm systems as necessary, to fully understand of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems.

To complete all statutory trainings on FLOW to keep compliant.

Work effectively with the HK Supervisor, Duty Managers and General Manger fostering good teamwork.

Organise quarterly Fire Life Safety meetings with head of departments with the General Manager

To clean, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel.

To be available for any emergencies and act in a capacity to protect guests and staff, and preserve the building and its systems.

Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgements.

Ability to work well and take initiative with minimal supervision.

Ability to focus attention on details, speed and accuracy.

Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.

Train and instruct staff by sharing of knowledge and skills.
