We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced archive conservator to play a key role in leading conservation work at Hampshire Archives and Local Studies, a high performing Accredited archives service with outstanding Designated collections.
You will be responsible for managing and delivering conservation and preservation for the Service, with a particular focus on developing opportunities for income generation and managing grant-funded work. Initially you would be the sole conservator but there would be the potential for expanding the team through grant-funded projects.
You will have a recognised professional qualification in archive conservation, be on the accreditation pathway through a professional body such as ICON or ARA, and have at least 3 years post-qualification practical experience, with a high level of manual dexterity. You will also have good interpersonal skills and communications skills. Some experience of seeking and managing income-generating work, though not essential, is desirable.
Hampshire County Council offers a competitive salary and benefits package, please see our website for details: Our Benefits Package
