In order to achieve this objective Sky relies on its software applications that are designed, developed and delivered by its internal Information System division. Would you like to be at the core of the new and continually changing software application delivery in this important Release Manager role?

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Control and validate the release of a variety of application components that form regular software releases to Test teams
  • Validate each component version has successfully completed quality assurance before being approved for a release Production. Proactively address concerns for any component delivery to protect core Production systems.
  • Collaborate and ensure excellent communication with a variety of technical teams across Development, Software Test and Project Delivery and the Business Release management team
  • Work with Release Management team members across a wide variety of software releases to ensure sufficient coverage of team activities and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to the rota within the Release Management team that provides monthly out of hours coordination for the implementation of software releases to Production
  • Coordinate the Release management team activities and line manage team members, continually driving process and performance improvement to increase value

What you'll bring:

 

  • Strong background and experience in software release management role and processes, demonstrating a variety of technical experience and skills used to review and coordinate software component deliveries to validate quality assurance processes have been met (to be clear this is not a project management role)
  • Excellent communication skills and confident working with technical and business team members
  • Good organisational and coordination skills and a flexible approach to meeting departmental demands on the role
  • Strong attention to detail and whilst promoting a proactive collaborative approach, confident to challenge when required
  • Experience of continually driving process and people performance improvement
  • Good line management experience of a small team that demonstrates a positive and supportive approach
