 Opportunity:

We are looking for a Sustainability Assistant to support our Decarbonising Communities, Improving the Environment and Social Value strategies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a clear ambition to join a team that seeks to make a significant and measurable contribution to mitigating the negative environmental impacts of construction activities and enhance the communities where we operate.

We are seeking a creative and tenacious individual who can see the bigger picture and identify the benefit of drawing common themes together to improve business performance.

If you are an individual who enjoys team working, can support others and lead from the front when required and if you share our intent to improve the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of all our stakeholders then please apply.

Responsibilities:

As Sustainability Assistant you will make a valuable contribution to the Social Value and Sustainability team by:

  • Producing reports on business environmental performance where required
  • Maintaining databases of information that add value to business functions such as work winning and project delivery, as well as to the sustainability function
  • Writing up case studies based on project initiatives
  • Liaising with appointed individuals across the company to assist with the use of new tools and processes
  • Attending relevant webinars and meetings to obtain and share new knowledge
  • Conducting research as necessary to inform R&D activities within the wider social value and sustainability function
  • Contributing to the content of the carbon and environment pages on the intranet

You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and be highly competent in MS suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint). You will possess an appreciation of EDI, supply chain arrangements, responsible businesses, education frameworks and climate change mitigation pathways within the construction sector. You will also have a Full UK driving licence.
