Bala Lake Hotel, Activity Base and Spa it’s our Place in the Mountains.  Situated in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park looking out across spectacular mountains and just a short stroll from Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), it's a magical place to work.

The hotel offers both activity and relaxation in beautiful surroundings, guests can spend their stay taking part in one of the many activities such as Segways; Crossbows; Archery; Field Archery; High Ropes Aerial Challenge; Gladiator Challenge and Leap of Faith; Low Ropes Course with Zip Wire; Laser Clay; Monster Trucks; Bala's own Escape rooms and Cyber Tag or relaxing and pampering themselves in our luxurious Spa overlooking Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) towards the Arenig mountain. 

What can you expect in this role?

As a Beauty Therapist you’ll be working in The Serenity Spa as part of a passionate skilled team of professionally-trained therapists, tailoring treatments to make each guest's experience extra special. The Serenity Spa offers a range of massages, skin and holistic therapies and a wide range of other professional beauty and well-being treatments designed to help guests relax and feel revitalised.

You’ll get to work in beautiful surroundings offering a wonderful benefit unique to the Partnership. What makes our hotels different is that they are only open for John Lewis Partnership employees and their friends/family. Engaging with fellow Partners from around the country and their guests as a brand ambassador. Working to deliver an amazing end to end customer experience you’ll get to interact with clients from reception through to the treatment and guiding clients towards the right products to buy and take home. As an expert you’ll be able to help shape, guide and identify any improvements to the spa making our guests feel welcome and want to come back again and again.

What do you need?

Hospitality is an ever changing environment with a real focus on great customer service and providing an experience for our guests. This is achieved through each Partner being motivated, creative and great teamwork.

  • We want our clients to feel relaxed and revitalised when they visit and that any interactions prior to and during their visit go smoothly, so excellent customer service skills are required.
  • NVQ Level 2 and 3 Beauty (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience
  • Proactive
  • Competent in IT systems and able to use standard software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
