An Overview of the Role

Capgemini’s Relaunch Programme is aimed at supporting talented professionals back into the business by providing a tailored 6-month programme to help refresh and update existing skills as well as developing confidence. We understand that you won’t necessarily match every requirement on the job description but will have some relevant previous experience and a wiliness to learn and further develop your skills in this area. If you have had a career break of  1 ½ years or beyond, for whatever reason, we would love to hear from you!

The Front End Developer role puts software engineering and professionalism at the heart of delivery. As part of the Web Platforms Team in our Digital Customer Experience unit, you’ll help us produce web platforms for a range of enterprise clients. All your close colleagues will be first and foremost engineers – technical experts who love using Open Source to create complex content management, digital marketing, and e-commerce solutions.

The role

The Front End Developer will develope and deliver engaging mobile, tablet and desktop web experiences for our ambitious clients.  

The work

-Work as part of agile development teams to deliver robust, engaging and usable solutions 
-Take responsibility for components’ technical delivery – collaborative with senior developers and architects to design robust, scalable technical solutions.
-Continually improve our front end development teams’ development processes, practices, tools and techniques.
 -Work with clients and internal teams to develop new opportunities and open source projects and initiatives.

 

Why You?

You will have some experience and a wiliness to further develop your skills in;

  • HTML5, CSS3, object-orientated JavaScript and large JavaScript applications.
  • Integrating with third-party APIs 
  • Using SASS or another CSS pre-processor.
  • Knowledge of using Grunt, Gulp or similar tools to automate tasks.
  • Understanding of web standards, accessibility and best practice.

Achieved/willingness to learn the following technology

  • JavaScript framework, such as Angular, React, Ember or Backbone.
