What you'll do:

* Be an inclusive and thoughtful leader managing the performance and wellbeing of a team of people organized across Distribution platform's teams built on top of engineering and DevOps groups. You will build high performing fast paced teams to develop software and systems that support future growth and allow the business to efficiently scale.
* Collaborate with all Sky business and product divisions to co-define a continuous 5-year technology strategy. Work closely with key stakeholders, specialists and peers across Europe to advise and plan investments that will innovate and transform existing distribution systems into Group platforms, leveraging new approach to contribution and deployment with strong automation and virtualization baseline.
* Following a product philosophy, you will work with your teams to translate Sky business requirements into roadmaps and to push for new insights and solutions. You will develop agile and lean approaches to delivering our global product strategy and being an agile advocate, you will create an invigorating environment for your team leading towards rapid release process and continuous delivery of changes.
* You will lead a group of solution architects and engineers to ensure all design solutions, workflows and architecture are industry leading, efficient, and scalable. Together with your internal and external peers, you will be responsible for designing and building Sky's next generation Broadcast platform in the cloud, working collaboratively and constructively with all other technology teams at Sky and ensure the implementation of the best design and development practices.
* Lead teams of engineers to proactively supervise the health and security of every channel distributed by our encoding and delivery platforms, anticipating risks and failures. You'll be responsible for delivering a high quality, rapid response support to Sky business divisions such as Sky Sports, Sky News and Sky Media in all group territories and be the primary escalation point as when required 24/7.


What you'll bring:

* Existing senior technology leader with experience managing origination and distribution technology deployments and ongoing live environments. The appropriate candidate will have proven experience working within a similar scale of Content distribution environments.
* Exceptional leadership skills and boundless optimism, unwilling to tolerate mediocrity and passionate about building a world beating team.
* A self-starter who can drive through change at all levels, recognized by their peers as inspirational and the "go-to" person for solving organisational problems.
* Experienced professional with an impressive track record in leading integration teams, you will have strong experience in the global delivery of projects.
* Commercially astute in the influencing factors of financial investments, procurement and contractual negotiation.
* Culturally fluent and able to engage people from a range of backgrounds.
