Job Details

Join a rapidly growing offshore wind business as an IT Manager in our Green Investment Group.

Our Green Investment Group’s global offshore wind business is responsible for the successful management and delivery of a pipeline of 15+ GW of offshore wind projects, the origination of new opportunities and partnerships as well as the provision of asset management and advisory services to third party investors. The organisation is currently looking to strengthen its capabilities, organisation and operational infrastructure to better meet the evolving needs of the rapidly expanding business.

In this newly created role, you will form part of the operations team reporting into the COO and take a leading role in establishing and managing the required IT infrastructure for the business and in selecting and liaising with third party service providers. This role will involve supporting both enterprise level technology, but also working alongside asset development teams to ensure their IT needs are met. Previous experience with asset development, construction and maintenance technology would be beneficial.

You will take overall accountability for delivering desired IT services to the offshore wind business, including developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organisation and managing the IT budget, preparing cost benefit analysis reports for upgrades and new projects, as well as working alongside our IT Managed Service Provider, ERP Integration Partner etc.

This is a hands-on, implementation-focused role around helping the business to identify requirements such as new applications, systems, management dashboards and data analytics, e.g. Power BI. You will work alongside asset development teams to ensure their IT needs are met and support the collaboration, construction documentation/correspondence, risk management, design coordination, scheduling and reporting processes. In addition, you will support the maintenance of essential IT operations, such as onsite hardware, network operation and security tools. Working alongside the IT Managed Service Provider, you will implement cyber security controls and design associated training workshops for staff.

To be successful in this role, you will have 5+ years’ experience in information technology management, acute problem-solving skills and the ability to create efficiency through automation.  You will have significant exposure to asset development, construction and maintenance technology, as well as familiarity with MS0365, Power BI and Cloud-based SaaS productivity tools.

 If you thrive in a complex and ambiguous working environment, possess strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a learning mindset, we want to hear from you.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.
