The Archbishops’ Advisers for Appointments and Development is the Department that supports the Archbishops of Canterbury and York in their responsibilities for appointments to senior roles and for ensuring that senior clergy are equipped for the Church of England’s significant missional challenges and for the vital role it plays in the life of the nation.

Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced recruitment administrator to be part of a small team which has responsibility for managing the appointments process of bishops and deans in the Church of England. Recruitment in the church is woven into vocational discernment and this provides a fascinating and alternative insight compared to many typical Human Resources roles.

As Recruitment Administrator, you will ensure the efficient administration of these senior recruitment campaigns, providing support to colleagues in the team who are leading the appointments, and members of selection panels (which will often include Bishops and other senior dignitaries), as well as guiding candidates through the appointments processes.

To be successful you will need experience of senior-level HR/Recruitment administration gained either in an in-house HR department, or an executive search firm.

We would like to hear from you if you have the ability to learn quickly and the motivation and commitment to give to this post.

We are still predominantly working remotely, and we are currently thinking about what our working arrangements will be for the future. It is likely that we will have a hybrid work pattern mixing our time between home and office, but we will be as flexible as possible to balance individual and organisational need. We anticipate that you will need to be in the office for a larger proportion of time in the first few weeks to help with your induction, and then at least 3-4 days per month in the short-medium term as we work out what our ongoing working arrangements will be. We are happy to discuss possible work pattern arrangements at interview.

In return we offer a unique environment with opportunities for continuous learning, generous annual leave for work life balance, season ticket loans and a range of benefits including discounted entry to attractions and what we feel is a market leading package when it comes to our pension scheme.
