As an Assistant Cook at Pontville School, you'll be in the kitchen and front of house, preparing and serving a range of tasty, nutritious food.
You'll be working at the heart of our school, serving staff, our young people and visitors. We'll expect you to follow food hygiene rules and keep health and safety in mind. But the key is to create varied menus that encourage our young people to try new food. You'll help plan meals, taking into account any specific dietary requirements.
We're ideally looking for you to have catering experience gained in a professional setting, but if you are a highly competent home cook who copes well with feeding the masses, we'd still like to hear from you. A Basic Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate would be beneficial as would GCSEs or an equivalent qualification in Catering, for example, an NVQ Level 2. However, to be part of our team, the key ingredient is having the right attitude. If you're hard working, friendly and dependable, you could be the perfect fit.
Pontville School is a co-educational, independent specialist day and residential school, providing
education and care for up to 140 pupils between the ages of 5 and 19 years with social communication difficulties, ASD and speech, language and communication difficulties. The school is set in fantastic grounds, allowing us to deliver a creatively designed curriculum, aimed at providing pupils with opportunities so that they can reach milestones in education and make progress with their emotional wellbeing and social development.
