Chief Operations Office 

Inmarsat’s Chief Operations Office (COO) plays a vital role managing the services that keep our business running and delivering to our customers. COO consists of 9 functions including: Satellite Operations, Network Operations, Service Assurance, Service Delivery Aviation and Customer Assurance, Service Delivery and Supply Chain, Project Management Office, Global Cyber Security and Group IT

Job Description

Primary role purpose:

The Project Co-ordinator will provide proactive project and administrative support to the Business Transformation Director. The successful candidate will provide support for the coordination of specific activities (see key responsibilities section) and will assist in delivering to deadlines, while anticipating the needs of the team and managing multiple priorities in a proactive, resilient and energetic manner. A flexible approach, together with the skills and personality to build positive relationships across all functions of the business, are essential to being successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Project support

  • Support with project administration
  • Ownership of raising POs for specific work
  • Assist in supporting the change and communications deliverables for projects including but not limited to producing  impact assessments, sharing information with key stakeholders, booking stakeholder events, preparing appropriate supporting materials for stakeholder management
  • Support the drafting of internal communications associated with ongoing projects
  • Act as a point of contact for the Business Transformation team

Meeting arrangements

  • Arrange meetings including  sending invites/updates accordingly and assisting in pulling the agenda together
  • Set up WebEx Events and Teams meetings
  • Support with the development and delivery of meeting materials

COO BAU Communications

  • Support the development  and publishing of the monthly COO newsletter, including finding candidates for stories, getting interviews, assisting vlog production and gaining approval of the final document for publication
  • Scoping, writing and publishing COO business stories that help drive the growth and customer centric agenda
  • Support in the organisation and delivery of COO events; Insights, Town Halls

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Positive and proactive outlook - self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good written English – previous experience of drafting corporate communications beneficial
  • Ability to work under pressure displaying sound judgement at all times
  • Willingness to learn

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Journalism or English Language Degree
  • Project Coordination or Event Coordination experience
  • Influencing skills
  • Interpersonal skills
