Lloyds Banking Group is the UK's biggest Retail, Digital and Mobile bank with over 30 million customers, so we have a big responsibility to help Britain Prosper. We're investing £3bn into our People, Platforms and Data to become the best bank for customers and rapidly transforming into a leading UK FinTech.

It's the role of our Chief Information Office (CIO) to provide the backbone / infrastructure upon which this bank operates. This technical SME role will be pivotal in expanding and enhancing existing technologies, integration and optimisation of the toolsets, taking a lead in incidents whilst ensuring that our customers both internal and external are protected.

Want to know more?

As part of this role, you'll share the responsibility of successfully protecting the 1 in 3 people who use our systems in the UK as well as our 10 million active online banking users. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that project and internally initiated service improvement activities are appropriately led through to a successful conclusion, as we continually improve our offering to become the Best bank for Customers. This will involve working with and managing a team of dedicated colleagues, developing them and building their capabilities. In addition, you'll demonstrate an ability and willingness to engage with programmes and initiatives throughout the project lifecycle, delivering their requirements. This will include acting to prioritise and resolve issues within the team.

Your accountabilities will include;

  • Acting as the key contact point for business engagement for this bank critical infrastructure.

  • Planning the implementation of sophisticated changes.

  • Delivering changes of all sizes and complexities for our customers.

  • Providing leadership and mentorship to colleagues within your team.

  • Delivery of infrastructure and service improvement plans, including gateway upgrades and new builds.

  • Identifying, collating and understanding of project portfolio activities, ensuring that there is an understanding of the key milestone, and they are reported and tracked.

  • Prioritisation, managing expectations and the ability to advise on and influence business decisions.

  • Short, medium and long term resource planning along with recruitment of both full time and contractor resourcing.

What about you?

You'll be accountable for day to day team management, ideally a networking/firewall SME with experience of allocating work to and managing technical specialists. Additionally you'll have an understanding of networking, firewall and security principles and design concepts.

You'll have experience supporting and helping colleague development, working to develop long term goals and will act as an escalation point for resources in the team for their project activity. This may involve identifying, collating and understanding detailed information on project scope, feasibility, technical accuracy and compliance.

You'll also have the ability to create, assess and update working practices and technical processes.

What would you get in return?

You'd get a benefits package that includes;

  • A performance related discretionary bonus.

  • Generous pension contribution.

  • 30 days leave plus bank holidays.

  • A flexible cash pot (4% of base salary) to spend on benefits.

  • Private health cover.

  • Wider corporate benefits and perks.

We're dedicated to giving you opportunities and support to develop you both expertly and personally to optimise your potential.

As a new colleague, you'll join us on our journey to build a 21st century bank that reflects modern Britain, and craft an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel encouraged and valued.

We're committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit. We support the principles of agile working and are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisation.

So, if you have the Firewall and line management experience we're seeking then get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.

Together we make it possible.
