Accounts Assistant - Part Time

SF Recruitment are currently working with an excellent organisation who are seeking a Finance Assistant to join their business on a part time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is seeking a flexible, part time opportunity. Our client is seeing a Finance Assistant to provide and maintain financial support for Management Accountant. The successful individual will join a small but well ran finance department.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintaining Purchase and Sales Ledgers, whilst providing nominal journal entries, as required.
- Complete supplier statement reconciliation and queries.
- Process credit card transactions and petty cash accounts on Xero.
- Provide remote cover and support as required for Finance Assistants across the organisation.
- Assist in the accurate recording of VAT
- Prepare and submit the monthly VAT returns
- Check delivery notes to incoming deliveries.
- Enter delivery notes into Xero System.
- Responsible for the timely collection of all monies due.
- Chasing large customer balances outstanding, in a proactive manner.
- Ensure all monies received are receipted, banked and entered on the financial system on a weekly basis.
- Petty cash
The Suitable Accounts Assistant
- GCSE's grade C or above in Maths and English or Equivalent
- AAT - Desirable
- Full driving licence and own transport (ad hoc travel to other sites could be required).
- Can prioritise and work well under pressure; meeting strict deadlines and exercising attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of audiences
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Able to maintain accurate electronic and hard copy filing systems
- Able to work as an effective team member at the levels of the finance function
- A minimum of 12 months experience working in a finance function including cash handling and reconciling accounts
