Context:

Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) is part of Pfizer that brings approved medicines to the patients. Within PGS, the Network Intelligence team is charged with ensuring tactical decision making delegated to technology. We do this in several ways, by

  • bringing visibility to performance
  • performing analysis to identify specific areas of improvement
  • simulating effects of alternative decision approaches
  • create path-finding solutions that successfully delegate decision making while meeting performance targets
  • industrialize said solutions in partnership with Digital colleagues

Finally, with data as the foundation, we act as owners and help govern several of the data and reporting platforms. Where not, we act as key stakeholders in the management of this business-critical infrastructure.


Role Summary

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to produce scalable software solutions. You'll be part of a cross-functional team that's responsible for development of solutions that support operational improvements in a global pharmaceutical. The solutions would include:

  • path-finding work that demonstrates capability for industrialization,
  • simulation building to track alternative outcomes
  • industrialized products that are managed in collaboration with Digital

As a Full Stack Developer, you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries as well as with databases SQL and no-SQL alike. You should also be a team player with an agile mind that can quickly grasp the business details.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a small team of motivated team members. We identify and narrate causes for problems on a global scale. This is both highly rewarding and challenging given our scale. There is a lot of opportunity to learn and do meaningful work in a large Pharmaceutical company bringing important medicines to patients. Training and learning are strongly supported to develop the team members. In addition, colleagues get to explore latest tools and technologies available.


Role Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to develop new digital solutions
     
    • Design client-side and server-side architecture
    • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
    • Write effective APIs
    • Develop efficient and secure data buses
    • Build the front-end of applications
    • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
    • Create security and data protection settings
    • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Write documentation
  • Work with digital teams to bring to the team the latest tools and capabilities
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software
  • Work with the team and internal clients to ideate software solutions from a technical standpoint

 

Basic qualifications

  • Experience as a Full Stack Developer building Node.js and React applications
  • Experience developing web applications, preferably in the industrial sector
  • Applied architecture knowledge
  • Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript)
  • Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. Java, Python)
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. Postgres, S3, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache)
  • Knowledge of databus (Rest API, Kafka,…)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate, convince and collaborate with a variety of colleagues
  • Familiarity with common stacks
