A well-established insurance brokerage and reinsurance house are looking to employ on a part time basis and experience Payroll Officer.
The role, 3 days a week, which can be spread over 4 or 5 days if preferred will work closely with the HR team (4 people) in ensuring that the payroll is administered, prepared and distributed on a monthly basis in a timely manner.
You will be comfortable and experienced in the processing of UK paid employees, including pay, tax and NI, deductions, statutory payments, loans, pensions etc. Assist with Appointed Representative /Sponsorship companies set ups of payrolls (of which there are currently 12 companies). Approximately 230 headcount.

Naturally a solid understanding of PAYE including manual calculations of NI, salary sacrifice, PAYE, NIC, SMP, SAP, SSP, SPP, as well as P45, P11d's and P60's

You will also help out with the preparing of pension paperwork, managing and monitoring flows between service providers, with mediation between providers and payroll where necessary.

Ideally you will have experience in a similar role within payroll:

* Confident in dealing with and responding to payroll and pension queries
* Confident in dealing with all levels of employees/Directors
* Able to work with multiple companies
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
* A good understanding of payroll/tax processes
* The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Advanced excel skills
* Competent in all MS Office packages
* Maintain a discrete and confidential approach at all times
* Highly organised and able to prioritise workload
* Deadline orientated
* Experience using HR/Payroll software (Cascade/IRIS experience would be ideal)
* Team player

Ideally you will be able to go into the office (located in the City) a couple of days a week.

You will be part of the hr team, report into the Head of HR. Training will be provided as required, particularly around the pensions side if necessary.

I background of working within a professional services or finance sector is preferred but not essential provided you are comfortable in being that point of contact for all payroll and pension queries from all companies.
