This is an exciting role for a filmmaker or television practitioner - academic who aspires to further and strengthen the teaching and learning of sustainability across the Film and Television (FTV) Programme within the Screen School.

The post-holder will foster, inform, and advise on sustainability practices and research for the drama, documentary and factual production-based, screenwriting, and film curation courses.

You will work collaboratively and in consultation with the practitioner-academics, course teams and technical colleagues from across the Film and Television undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

You will actively encourage and inspire students, and work with their aspirations of sustainable practices for our discipline/s. This includes the embedding, teaching, and administering of the BAFTA's albert Educational Partnership Teaching Pack and the Carbon Calculator. This role will promote sustainable practice(s) and support initiatives for/from the FTV student body, the Programme or School, UAL and/or wider institutions, and professional practice in the industry.

Your profile

You will have a working knowledge of professional filmmaking and television production. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge, experience and commitment towards the delivery and/or research of sustainable practice for film and television. You will preferably have experience of teaching in Higher Education. As a practitioner and/or educator your practice or skillset could be in production, direction, or one of the craft roles.

You will be comfortable working as part of the team and share aspirations, knowledge, and expertise about sustainable practices with staff and students. You will champion equality, diversity, and inclusivity in your teaching and learning. You will have informed or working knowledge of risk assessment, health and safety protocols, safe-working practices and legal obligations for film and television.
