We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Business Investigator at our site in Glasgow.

Naval Ships design and manufacture a range of naval ships and state of the art combat systems and equipment, giving customers the capability to fulfil extensive naval operations. From offshore patrol vessels through to the latest City Class Type 26 frigates that we are building for the UK Royal Navy, and the Australian Hunter Class and Canadian Surface Combatant, we are a business that operates on a truly global platform and can offer a wide range of opportunities where you can play your part in these challenging and exciting projects.

The quality team have a new role available and are looking for a Lead Business Investigator to join their team to support, guide & coordinate a team of investigators across the business to carry out a wide range of investigations including quality, people and processes. With an opportunity to renew the existing process and implement improvements you'll bring your investigation expertise to help the business streamline and providing a rigorous and robust system.

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Business Investigator will involve:

  • Coordination & alignment of a range of investigations across the naval ships business
  • Indirectly leading a team of investigators
  • Responsibility to support & develop a team of cross functional investigators
  • Providing effective management support to all functional areas, report writing and action plan creation and follow up
  • Provision of management awareness training & education.
  • Engaging stakeholders and driving change and improvement across the business
  • Support training of basic investigation skills for the investigations team and broader quality team and wider business
  • Your skills and qualifications:

    Essential:

  • Experience in a similar investigation role is essential including knowledge of investigation methods and verification techniques
  • Previous experience leading and conducting investigations
  • Previous experience leading a team of investigators
  • Experience of report writing and a competent user of MS packages
  • Desirable:

  • Lead auditor with certification

    Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, good communications skills both verbal and written, problem solving skills, good attention to detail and negotiating and influencing skills are all key. This role needs to drive change, encourage people to contribute and investigate issues so building and growing relationships is key.
