Our mission

We're the Product Origination & Onboarding Lab/team and we're seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the Merchant Services Feature Team.

This is a truly exciting area, that will enable you to work in partnership with the business to lead the development of outstanding digital origination journeys.

This is strategically important area for the bank and one that is needed for maintaining and enriching customer relationships in the face of new competitor models.

We're looking for someone who is hardworking, inspiring and customer-obsessed, the Product Owner is the "value maximiser", ensuring that the team are always passionate about the priorities that will deliver the best outcomes for our clients.

Who are the Business Finance Team?

We're an experienced multi-disciplined group of colleagues who are passionate about developing and evolving customer centric customer journeys. We work in partnership with business to agree strategy and implement a roadmap of new digital journeys and features. We rely heavily on customer and market insights to advise our roadmap.

As the Product Owner of this team, you'll not only be accountable for end-to-end delivery but also the management of performance. In addition, you'll coach, mentor and manage a number of hardworking individuals, to get the best out of your team and your allocated budget.

About the role

With responsibility for developing and delivering change plans and achieving outcomes that support our strategy, you would be the face of the Feature Team, championing the team's vision, purpose and results. Fostering a collaborative, empowered team, nurturing them to take ownership of the relevant outcomes, as well as stimulating innovation, will be seen as a key success factor. Your stakeholder management, influencing, presenting and collaborating skills will be vital as you interact with a wide range of non-technical and technical colleagues.

A key aspect of the role will be working with the business to ensure alignment with business drivers. You'll use your skills to influence specific actions and outcomes, and resolve how we, in Group Transformation, can help them achieve those goals.

What experience do you need to apply for this role?

We like people who come from a diverse set of backgrounds and areas of banking as it brings new insights and ways or working to our team.

Ideally you should have: prior demonstrable experience as a Product Owner within an Agile environment, delivering technology change. This should be complimented by experience working with and leading a diverse range of role types and working with teams/functions outside your direct control to meet ambitious, and often immovable timelines.

Most importantly, strong customer management and influencing skills are a must and a clear grasp of budgets and costs to ensure your business cases and forecasts are realistic and achievable would be desirable.

Highly desired would be experience in merchant services/acquiring or payments, but any strong all-round product owner please still apply!
