The Homestead Cafe has established itself as the busiest (take-away only) coffee shop in the area since opening in Summer 2019. We have lots going on and are big coffee, food and beer heads! Over Summer 2021 we started hosting events in our courtyard such as Sunset Screenings, Courtyard Classics and Local Makers Markets. We are proud of our fun, friendly, and hard-working team and seek positive and energetic individuals for this role.

We serve Square Mile Coffee on a 3-group Victoria Arduino Black Eagle using Victoria Arduino Mythos 1 grinders and a Mahlkonig Tanzania for our filter coffee. We rotate a monthly Guest Roaster for our batch brews and retail coffee (Hard Lines, Girls Who Grind, Round Hill Roastery etc...) and offer as much training as you like for free at Square Mile Roastery.

On weekends we have the courtyard coffee cart. This helps us to manage the demand and long queues on busy days so some shifts will include manning the cart coffee machine or serving up filter coffee!

Our barista roles are fast-paced, handling a high volume of drinks orders all served with skill and care. Hard work is balanced with a fun environment with perks such as paid breaks, free coffee/ pizza/ ice-cream on shift, 50% off outside of work and regular staff socials - we recently spent the evening paddleboarding at the lake!

You will be:

- Working part-time including at least 1 weekend day
- Starting as early as 7am and closing at late as 6pm

Previous experience and an interest in speciality coffee is essential. Despite our high volume we are looking for someone who can remain (relatively!) calm under pressure and is proactive with the ability to multitask. We are keen to speak with those who have experience in:

- Dialling in espresso
- Producing consistently high quality textured milk
- Pouring latte art
- Knowledge of making batch brew
