About Our Client
The client are a renowned venue based in the heart of the City, offering special place for weddings, banquets, private dinners, cocktail parties and corporate events. With a team of expert and dedicated planners and service proders committed to offering the highest levels of service.
Job Description
The Part-time Accountant will be responsible for the following:
Manage all aspects of the sales ledger
?? Maintain stock records on Sage 200 and records of wine held by third parties
?? Ensure client invoices are accurate and issued promptly
?? Manage credit control, including credit checks on possible future clients
Duties
?? Prepare reports on Events for the Finance and General Purposes Committee to include preparation of budgets, and comparisons of actual income and expenditure against budget with explanation of variances
?? Ensure regular stock takes are carried out by the Events team and any differences reconciled
?? Analyse event costs and resolve any discrepancies
?? Reconcile online bookings, electronic receipts for ticket sales etc and take card payments via electronic portal
?? Maintain records of events held during the year to enable the annual calculation of the partial recovery rate of VAT
?? Hands-on supervision of Finance Assistant (responsible for purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, banking and petty cash)
?? Ensure the financial policies and procedure manual is up to date and any changes to financial procedures are documented
?? Maintain records and reconcile expenditure on the Major Works programme, in consultation with the venue Manager
?? Provide sickness and holiday cover for the Finance Team
?? Assist with any ad hoc activities as required by the Chief Accountant
?? In general, carry out other reasonable financial and administration tasks required by the Company
Liaise with:
?? Director of Finance & Investments
?? Finance Team
?? Head of Events & Catering
?? Executive Head Chef
?? Operations Supervisor
?? Assistant Clerk (Membership)
The Successful Applicant
The successful Part-time Events Accountant:
ACCA/CIMA Part-Qualified or equivalent
Sage 200 experience (essential)
End to end Accounting experience
Previous experience working within events industry
Knowledge of a stock system
Understanding of Events
Supervision of junior team members
Methodical and accurate with good attention to detail
Able to work as part of a team
Good organisational skills
