Fixed Term

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation, and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

Are you an innovative, committed and enthusiastic marketer/aspiring marketer?

We are looking someone with strong organisation and prioritisation skills to join our Academic Marketing Team to work on a leading list of Books and Journals for a 12-month fixed term contract, part time for 14 hours per week.

The Role

The role will involve working as part of a large team of talented marketers, to create and deliver high-impact global marketing plans while providing an outstanding publishing service to our readers, authors and publishing partners.

You will have the opportunity to get a good overview of publishing as a whole, as well as liaise with a range of different departments, from internal editors to external authors.

What you will be doing

  • Planning and executing marketing campaigns to ensure products reach their target markets and sales targets are met. Including: email marketing, blog posts, social media, content marketing, brand marketing, advertising, print marketing and management of stands at key conferences and society events.
  • Evaluating and reporting on marketing campaigns through the targeted use of campaign analytics and metrics, combined with customer sales and usage data.
  • Working in partnership with key internal and external business stakeholders on product and brand development and publishing strategies.
  • Managing relationships with key external stakeholders, including authors, editors and publishing partners, to support a professional publishing service.
  • Conduct close working relationships with commissioning Editorial teams in your subject areas, ensuring that there is strong and clear two-way communication about key products and marketing strategies and plans.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest Marketing theory, technologies and best practice to improve marketing ROI, and actively test new marketing techniques.

About you

The most important thing to us is that you are very organised and have strong communication skills, as we are willing to support you with training to develop you in this role. If you have some experience/knowledge of marketing, this would be great, but is definitely not a barrier to your application.

We are looking for someone to demonstrate:

  • An innovative proactive approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders both internal and external
  • Experience of digital marketing channels including social, email, and blogs.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive package of benefits to help with your life both inside and outside of work:

  • Generous contributory pension
  • 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Annual performance related bonus and increases (discretionary)
  • Employee discount and cash back scheme at 2,500 retailers
  • Cycle scheme
  • Season Ticket Loan
  • Subsidised staff restaurants
  • Support for professional qualifications
  • Discounted access to the University of Cambridge Sport Centre, along with various other local gyms.

The closing date for applications is 1 November and interviews are scheduled to take place in the week commencing 8 November.
