About the Team

The Warehouse & Distribution technology team develops & supports our I.T. products across the whole of Warehousing & Logistics for Next.

Warehouse & Distribution are critical in ensuring our customers, stores & partners orders are all processed & delivered efficiently & ontime.

It’s always busy at Next and we are about to start the development required for a new Online Warehouse, whilst expanding our current Warehouses productivity, adding to our 3rd party Partner Portfolio & looking to modernise our development processes & platforms.

We have recently moved to a Product based structure within the department & are recruiting for a Mainframe developer to join our Outbound Logistics Product Group, primarily dealing with our carrier integrations.

About The Role

You will:

  • Working within your Product Set team including Developers, Testers, Product Development Manager and Product Owner to design, develop, implement & support the changes required to deliver developments. As part of the wider Warehouse Systems team help look at how existing legacy architecture & processes can be modernised Develop in both a batch and online environment adhering to relevant standards To work closely with our user community to provide both technical and non-technical advice Provide out of hours callout support, as well as providing out of hours support to business key events.

Criteria Technical Skills:

 

  • COBOL DB2 and SQL ADABAS NATURAL JCL

Desirable Skills:

  • zOS connect Websphere MQ JSON XML IDZ within Eclipse Framework
