Job description

You will work closely in a small, dynamic team to support with delivering negotiations with countries around the world, working on high profile and cross-Whitehall policies and updating key stakeholders in the aviation industry. You will also provide support for transport and accommodation to staff within DfT on an accurate and timely basis, ensuring that DfT maintains a duty of care to its staff on official business.

This is a fantastic opportunity as this role will be fast paced and will provide you with the opportunity to support work on high profile issues with ministerial and No.10 interest as well as leading and assisting on exciting projects.
 

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the team with negotiations and other commitments by organising meetings with stakeholders while managing and prioritising demands on the team’s diary commitments. This will include proactively resolving scheduling conflicts, organising logistical support for in person and online meetings, and working collaboratively with other offices to set up meetings. Be able to work across multiple time zones.
• Supporting team in the return to the office, helping with administrative and booking and setting up rooms for meetings.
• Communicating and engaging effectively with a range of people, including internal and external staff and stakeholders. This will include dealing with stakeholder enquiries promptly and courteously by email, telephone, letter or in person, referring to the relevant lead where appropriate.

About you

Coming to us with your excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the proven ability to establish and maintain effective working partnerships at all levels internally and externally.

You can focus on achieving your own objectives but also love supporting others to do the same.

You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be driven and have the passion to succeed in this role. You will be a strong communicator with effective verbal and written communication skills.

Having excellent organisational skills, you will thrive managing a varied and challenging workload, being able to work autonomously and enjoy focusing to produce work to a high standard within agreed timelines.

You will also be computer-literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages like Word, Excel and Outlook.
