A confident, strong-minded Senior Finance Officer is required on a part-time basis to join a leading international specialist engineering company.

Reporting to the Managing Director and working a 3 day week, the ideal Senior Finance Officer will have good, first-hand knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, invoicing, foreign currency and month-end accounts preparation. In order to be successful, the ability to quickly become embedded within the organisation acting as a trusted advisor on all finance related matters is essential. The capacity to bring new, innovative ideas to the role is also important as is an understanding of the need to work across other areas of the business as the organisation continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure invoices are accurate and address any discrepancies
Input all invoices onto Sage
Prepare payments and pay suppliers from Sage purchase ledger within stipulated terms
Allocate payments
Reconcile monthly statements
All aspects of Sales Ledger, including raising invoices
Create a monthly aged debt spreadsheet, reporting to the Director
Manage and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and petty-cash ledgers
Manage foreign currency payments and receipts
Administrate payroll (preferably QTAC)
Manage employee pension scheme
Provide monthly management reports and cashflow forecasts for directors
Depreciation, prepayments and accruals
Skills & Experience:

Experience in similar role finance related leadership role
Experience of working with Sage 50
Good knowledge of both sales-ledger and purchase-ledger
Experience of chasing aged debt
Accounting qualification AAT or similar
Strong MS Excel skills
Good communication skills with the ability to work on own initiative, efficiently and professionally
Adaptability, reliability and discretion
Communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills with good attention to detail
