Cost Control Engineer - UK Offshore Wind
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cost Control Engineer to join our team to assist with the appropriate management and control of cost elements such as budget/forecast, actual spent of the project and input to finance for cash call and financial model.
Reporting to the Commercial & Finance Manager or the Product Control Manager, you will work within a joint venture structure set up with two partners at 50/50 to develop and deliver the project and you will be responsible for the appropriate management and control of Cost elements for a 1.5 GW UK offshore wind project.
Your responsibilities will include creation and administration of forecasts for the costs of Offshore wind project, and supporting package managers and procurement officers with the structural and consistent build-up of the costs. You will also take ownership of business case assumptions and work to maximise value for project shareholders by advocating financially optimal solutions.
Working with the Project Management team (PMT), you will also be required to establish and maintain up to date forecasts, challenge budget assumptions where appropriate and proactively seek more efficient solutions.
You will be required to attend project meetings and discussions with both internal and external stakeholders to provide cost control and planning advice, and liaise with Finance to assist with internal reporting.
To be successful for this role, you will have a demonstrable experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of complex tasks and the ability to work autonomously with great rigor and precision. You will possess excellent organization skills with the ability to manage your own workload and meet tight timescales. Excellent written and spoken English is a key requirement as well as the ability to use MS Office, in particular MS Excel
