Cawood Scientific are currently looking for a Full and Part Time Lab Analysts to be based at our site in Selby.
As an Analyst you will be responsible for carrying out accurate microbiological analysis on samples received in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and the company Health and Safety and Quality Policies as directed by the Section Manager.
Other duties involve
?? Performing a range of microbiological testing as required by the Team Leader and in accordance with the relevant SOP.
?? Carrying out complex analysis based on knowledge from relevant degree and/or experience, including serology and biochemical tests.
?? Making decisions based on knowledge and experience when viewing results
?? Timely completion of work schedules.
?? Accurate record keeping in accordance with company QA policy
?? Acting on any failures of control checks and reporting it to the Team Leader.
?? Participate in any investigation into control check failures
?? Ensuring that work areas and equipment being used are continuously maintained in a clean and safe condition in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice/Housekeeping. Reporting any problems to the team leader.
?? Reporting valid results on a timely basis within the guidelines of the Quality System.
?? Using knowledge and experience to make decisions on repeating samples where appropriate.
?? Communicating any operational problems and issues that may affect quality or service delivery to the Team Leader.
?? Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of all methods, instrumentation and documentation relevant to the team by taking part in PT analysis.
Manage the work load within a given time period reporting any issues that may effect this to the team leader
?? Monitor stock and rotate stock where appropriate. Identifying any issues with stock and inform the team leader.
?? Working in a manner which complies with the Health & Safety Policy of the company
To deliver services effectively a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform weekend work and work not specifically referred to above
