This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team at Leighton Moss, one of the RSPB's flagship nature reserves, located in the Arnside and Silverdale AONB in North Lancashire. As part of the team, you will work for one of the world's leading conservation charities, dedicated to saving nature. You will be directly contributing to the charities objectives through the income you help generate in the caf??.
We anticipate being able to offer additional hours to this role as we see how the business develops following Covid restrictions. We would therefore need some flexibility from the successful applicant to work additional shifts. This post will require regular weekend work, and potentially weekdays as well.
Catering experience is preferred but not essential. Full training and support on all aspects of RSPB catering will be provided to enable you to drive sales, be a positive role model in the team and be an ambassador for the RSPB. You will also be provided with RSPB uniform.
As Catering Assistant at RSPB Leighton Moss, you will:
* Assist with the day to day operation of the busy Leighton Moss caf??
* Work as part of a motivated and passionate team of staff and volunteers
* Deliver the highest standard of customer care
* Serve customers, handle cash and use the till system
* Prepare and serve high-quality food and drink
* Maintain stock levels
* Clear tables and wash up
* Maintain high hygiene standards and follow all food safety and cleaning guidelines.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
* GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
* Computer literate and comfortable using a till system
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
* Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback
* Understanding of food safety and HACCP principles
